I am a contemporary figurative painter with a BA in fine art printmaking from The National College of Art and Design, Ireland. My artistic journey is an exploration of identity, memory, and the landscapes that shape us. Growing up in Iceland and being surrounded by otherworldly environments has had a significant influence on my work and on myself as an artist, and the Icelandic landscape appears in my work often. Central to my creative practice is the concept of Eternalism—a philosophy that challenges the conventional perception of time as a linear progression. My work examines how we perceive time in relation to our surroundings, illustrating a coexistence that transcends temporal boundaries. I often incorporate my own likeness and those of family members into my compositions; there they coexist with everything around them and with each other in a place where linear time does not exist.
